It seems like only yesterday but almost three years have passed since I was elected to this office and now it is election time again. Time passes quickly when you stay busy. Remember to come out and exercise your right to vote in UAW LOCAL 1250’s upcoming election. The General Election will be held at 17250 Hummel Road, Brook Park, Ohio 44142 on Monday May 5 and Tuesday May 6 between the hours of 6:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M. each day. If necessary, a Run-off Election will be held Tuesday, May 13, 2008 from 6:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M.

I encourage everyone to participate in this very important election. Retiree’s can vote for all Local Union Executive Offices. Those include;

  1. President
  2. Vice President
  3. 2nd Vice President
  4. Recording Secretary
  5. Financial Secretary
  6. Three Trustees
  7. Sergeant-At-Arms
  8. Guide
  9. Three Executive Board Members-At-Large 1
  10. One Retired Chapter Executive Board Member-At-Large

We have just completed our trustee’s semi-annual audit. The audit went well, and probably our biggest accomplishment was disposing of some of our old financial records. The cost of shredding 3,586 pounds of dated paperwork was $350.00. Written approval from our International Financial Secretary-Treasurer Elizabeth Bunn was necessary to do this. Some of the paperwork was over 20 years old. Our trustee’s recapitulation report was timely filed with the International Union.

Three new electrical circuits have been added in the Retiree’s Lounge. During our Retiree’s meetings we will now be able to have all of the coffee pots going at the same time without tripping breakers or running extension cords. This potential fire hazard has been corrected.

That very time consuming and detailed report called the LM-2 required by the Department of Labor was just filed. This year it was forty seven pages long. I’m sure glad I have that one behind me for another year. The reporting requirements by Department of Labor continually become more and more stringent.
